Porta Mariae
The Porta Mariae, Latin for Marian gate, is an arch in Naga City commemorating the tercentenary of the region’s devotion to Our Lady of Peñafrancia. The arch is 18 meters wide, and 11 meters high, surmounted by a 3-meter tall brass image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia and two angels per side. The main portal’s two small gates accommodate three persons while the central portal accommodates at least eight persons.

The beautiful Peñafrancia Minor Basilica is steeped in a beautiful religious story and a rich history. Housing an image of the Virgin Mary sculpted in 1710 which was commissioned by a Dominican priest, devotees from all over the world flock the basilica, moreover during the Peñafrancia Festival. The dome-like structure is decorated with stained glass art of the “Painter of Ina”, or the stained glass artist and mural painter Pancho Piano. Naga Metropolitan Cathedral
The Naga Metropolitan Cathedral sits on a huge parcel of land. Included within its vicinity is the Holy Rosary Minor Seminary which is an attraction itself and is considered as the center of ecclesiastical study in the region, has been standing since 1785 and has been declared as a National Historic Landmark in 1988. The Cathedral is built in the Baroque tradition, with the front elevation sporting two belfries.
